Summer is here and kids are out of school. Are you looking for a great Christian summer activity for your child? If you are, then look no further.
The First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka has something to offer you and your family. Our Vacation Bible School theme this year is “Kingdom Rock.” The activities will be located at First United Methodist Church of Wetumpka at 306 W. Tuskeena St., June 24-28.
During our time together at Kingdom Rock our goal is to equip the children with scripture and provide them with reminders of how to stand strong for God. We will learn how God’s love, our family and friends, prayer, trusting God and God’s word help us stand strong.
The kids will participate in epic Bible adventures that will help them to remember how David wrote about God’s love, how Mordecai encouraged Esther to do the right thing, how Nehemiah persevered to rebuild the wall around Jerusalem and a few others. Bible bands will be given daily to take home and share.
At Kingdom Rock, each day will begin with an opening assembly and conclude with a fanfare finale where children can interact with our Queen and Knight in Training, Wally. This is a celebration that gets everyone involved in living what they have learned throughout the day.
Everyone including family members and friends are encouraged to join in daily for this special time at 11:50 a.m. as we conclude a fun-filled day of worship and fellowship.
During music they will learn motions to the catchy songs about standing together, getting a little crazy and various exciting others. We will dig into yummy treats that tie into the daily Bible point and story.
At our imagination station we will test out fun science gizmos they can take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God sightings.
During tournament games children will learn teamwork and listening is very important when trusting in God. During crafts, they will create bracelets, frames, shields and other crafts that tie into the daily Bible point and story.
The kids at Kingdom Rock will join an international mission’s effort to share God’s love with children in India. We will have a coin drive daily to help fund the books and shipping. Every child here will send a child in India a book in their language explaining the love God has for them and will be able to take home an exact copy in English for themselves.
Kingdom Rock is a well-rounded, week long, Vacation Bible School for children four to 12 years old. It will be in progress from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. each day.
