John L. Vickers, a resident of Titus, Alabama went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Father’s Day, June 16, 2013, at the age of 80.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. June 18 at Gassett Funeral Home.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. June 19 in the Gassett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Singleton and Dr. Jim Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Titus Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Don Laird officiating and Gassett Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Vickers is survived by his wife of 61 years, Miriam Mulder Vickers; son, John Michael (Pam) Vickers; daughters, Marie (Bill) Colmer, Wanda (Ricky) Brantley, and Cheryl (Gary) Teel; grandchildren, Iris (Glenn) Hornbuckle, Ruth (Nick) Hoehler, Nathan (Samantha) Brantley, Micah (Christina) Brantley, Adam Brantley, Crystal (Todd) Wiechmann, Lydia Teel, and Zachary Teel; great grandchildren, Brett Hornbuckle and Levi Brantley; sisters, Robbie Goodwin and Laretha (Ralph) Eggimann; and countless other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Brantley, Gary Teel, Bill Colmer, Nathan Brantley, Micah Brantley and Glenn Hornbuckle.
Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Titus Baptist Church, Adam Brantley, Zachary Teel and Jerry Goodwin.
