Freedom to choose is the only real freedom

Dear Editor:
The freedom to choose is one of the only real freedom you have, and the most important freedom you have. You should not let other people, or the government, or the collective, choose for you. You should choose for yourself – you have the right and free will to choose.
I am really sick and tired of other people telling me that I must choose what they choose or be legally wrong or a freak. I am proud to be an American, Christian, conservative, Southern, white and a good citizen.
You have to respect other people’s rights and freedoms to be individual and free, especially the right to live free from harm. I do not try in any way to force my values on anyone and tell them that they have to believe as I do or “don’t buy my product,” accept non-biblical lifestyles or be a discriminator, or accept these lifestyles or lose your monetary backing.
I really have a problem with large organizations (i.e. Boy Scouts of America) kowtowing to forces that say they must accept some belief or risk losing cash.
As our founders further avowed, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.”
When you can no longer choose for yourself, but the government chooses for you by enforcing its will upon you, for your own good and the good of the collective, you are no longer free, but living under tyranny and slavery. The government should not enforce its morality or lack thereof, and compassion upon you, it should protect your rights and freedoms, especially your right to live free from harm for yourself and your property.
It does your soul no good for the government to force or enforce its choices upon you.
You need to be able to choose your own morality and compassion, also to choose that which you think is best for you and not have it enforced or forced upon you, by government. You should have the right of self-determination, to be free sovereign autonomous individuals.
We have to choose for ourselves, to be the best of ourselves we can be, individual and free. Our Constitution, as written and ratified, stipulates in its preface that it is “ordained and established” by the people to “secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”
But is liberty secure for us, or our posterity, if the legislature institutes regulations, collects taxes and accumulates insurmountable obligations of debt in the name of future generations to support government agendas and operations that are clearly outside the limits of our Constitution’s endorsement?
I say NO! Until “the people” make a majority change, the document says what it says. I also believe that once a majority of individuals have voted and established their will, no court has the right to overturn that choice.
