Campers learn the game at Elmore County Football Camp

Edgewood Academy opened the gates to Storrs Field this weekend for its annual Elmore County Football Camp, and more than 40 campers took the field.

“It’s a good number and good mixture of younger and older kids,” said Carr. “We were able to divide them up in their age groups  after we finished teaching fundamentals.”

Each day ended with a game. Friday’s game was two-hand touch.

“We try to do something different each day,” said Carr. “It makes it fun for them. Before we left Friday, we brought a blow up Slip’N’Slide and let them have some fun on it.”

With the 2013 affair in the books, Carr is looking to next year.

“They say if it’s not broke don’t fix it,” said Carr. “Things are going well and I think that’s why our baseball and football camps have been successes. The kids know what they are going to get when they come here.”
